Taken yesterday (the 4th of July). From left to right, Diva the black Flat-Coated Retriever, Isabel the liver (chocolate) Labrador Retriever, and Jolteon the Golden Retriever. Three of the six AKC recognized retriever breeds, one in each of the three colors -black, liver, and yellow/gold (yellow gold can reach anywhere from white to red-gold, and in Chesapeake Bay Retrievers the liver can be a light brown to the dark color Isabel is). The other three breeds are the Chesapeake Bay Retriever, the Curly-Coated Retriever, and the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. Flatties and Curlies come in black and dark brown (liver), Labs come in of course black, liver, and yellow (red-gold to white), Chesies come in varying shades of brown, Goldens come in yellow anywhere from red-gold to white, and Tollers come in a dark gold (with white markings). So in other words... if we had a black Curly-Coat, a Chessie, and a Toller we would have all six retrievers, two of each color, but this is just me over thinking things... sorry...
YAY I love these breeds
Thanks! They really are great. (:
